It is almost that time of year again. Spring cleaning refers to cleaning your home from top to bottom: the bathroom(s),living room, basement, computer room, kids rooms, kitchen, mud room, garage, and bedrooms. The unusual cleaning is accomplished during spring cleaning. You can clean the bathroom anytime but shaking out the rugs and washing the windows is traditionally done during spring cleaning. Be prepared for some hard work when Spring cleaning, but it can be done in one day if you are prepared.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    Plan Spring Cleaning

    Plan Spring Cleaning

Set a Date on the Calender - Stick to the day you scheduled for spring cleaning. If you don't schedule a date on the calender there will always be something else that will come up to fill your time.

  2. Step 2

Get the Entire Family Involved - Let all your family members be aware of the spring cleaning date. Don't dread this date. Let the members of your family share the same enthusiasm. Offer an incentive to your kids and to your spouse. For example, you could let them each pick a fun place to go where you live or a place to go eat after they are done. Use each others enthusiasm to tackle what needs to get done.

  3. Step 3

Save the Best for Last - Do the chore you are like the least as the first thing you do. You won't dread getting to it if you accomplish it right away and once it is done you will be motivated to do some of the easier things on your list.

  4. Step 4
    Clean the Plants

Plan Out Your Day - Wash Your Rugs -Rotate the Mattress - Vacuum - Clean Out the Garbage Cans - Sort Through Your Closet - Clean in between the Cracks - Scrub the Oven and Dishwasher - Take Out the Food From the Refrigerator and Throw Away All Expired Items - Thoroughly Wash the Inside of the Fridge - Dust or Wash Off All Your Plants

  5. Step 5

Don't be Afraid to Throw Away Junk - Over accumulated stuff is called junk. Look to your local donation centers. They will provide you with a receipt you can use to take a tax deduction with. Take out all of the clothes you didn't wear last year and give them away. Sort through all the extra toys your kids have and give them away. Extra collection of stuff means extra collection of dust.

  6. Step 6
    Clean is Good

Stay focused on Cleaning Only - Forget about all the other stuff you have going on in your life like the stack of bills that needs to be paid.

Tips & Warnings
  • Avoid harsh cleaning chemicals that could be potentially hazardous. Try all natural cleaning products or vinegar to clean with.
  • Spring cleaning can be done anytime of the year, but traditionally it is done in the Spring Season.
