Acne generally occurs on the face, neck, back, and chest. Often strephylococcal bacteria causes the problems of the skin. Depending on the severity of the inflammation, acne can be very painful and unsightly. There are many factors that contribute to acne. Because of these factors, acne falls into different stages.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1
    STRESS STRESS STRESS

    STRESS STRESS STRESS

Some factors that contribute to having acne prone skin:

    1. Hormonal fluctuations: Usually the main cause of acne breakout.
That is why during puberty most people experience some form of outbreak.
Although everyone experiences the hormone rushes during puberty, it can also occur throughout one's lifetime.
Premenstrual syndrome can cause a tremendous hormone fluctuation.
Acne outbreaks increase during these times.

    2. Over-active oil glands: A direct connection to acne.

    3. Heredity: If both parents had acne than it is 100% chance their children will have acne.

    4. Diet: A sensible diet is helpful in preventing or controlling acne.

    5. Caffeine, smoking, salt, processed sugar, coffee, tea, alcohol, and fried foods all play a role in contributing to acne breakout.

    6. Seasons: Different climates have an effect on acne skin.

    7. Birth control pills: While starting the pill the skin can get better or worse. But the pill has been known to cause breakouts. The same can be true when stopping the pill.

    8. Pregnancy: Can cause flare-ups of acne or can clear up acne.

    9. Stress: Pimples on prom night or the day you get married.
This is all due to stress.
Stress causes the brain to manufacture a hormone that causes the adrenal gland to make more hormones, which causes an abundance of oil to be produced.

    10. Lack of care: Not only teenagers neglect the skin so do some adults. However acne is not caused by dirt, poor skin hygiene is.
Sleeping in your make-up allows for invasion. Not being committed to your skin care routine can lead to uncontrollable acne breakouts.

11: Greasy work areas: When working in an environment where your skin is exposed to grease or airborne grease(fast food restaurants)may notice a strong flare-up of acne.

  2. Step 2

    The different stages of acne:

There are four stages of acne:

Stage 1 and 2: Minor accumulation of blackheads on the nose and chin are the most prominent of these two stages.
Whiteheads, blackheads, and skin clogging are the signs that your skin is in these two stages.

STAGE 3: Begins with a low-grade infection, where pustules and pimples are flourishing in the T-zone(forehead, chin, and nose). This stage is bordering on the need for medical care. You may be able to get some care from an advance trained professional esthetician. They may be able to perform extractions without leaving scares and traumatized skin afterwards. However, it is best to leave any treatments to the physician.

STAGE 4: Also where the Doctor must intercede if any long term treatment is needed.
In this stage there are deep nodules and cysts, along with some intensely swollen pustules. Nodules are similar to a papule, but it is deeper in the skin and feels very solid and very sore. A cyst are deep infections caused by a deep massive invasion of white blood cells. They are filled with pus and are very large. A papule is red sore bump without a "whitehead" no pus. Most likely you may need to be on an internal medication and check with your Doctor to find out what kind of skin care would be beneficial for you.

  3. Step 3

    OVERCLEANING AND SELF-TRAUMA EXCORIATIONS:

So many of us our under the assumption that acne is directly caused by the lack of cleansing. Certainly keeping the skin clean is very important, but again acne is not caused by dirt. By over cleansing actually does the opposite of what you are trying to accomplish, it often causes acne to become aggravated. Cleansing with facial cleansers too often can cause irritation to the already aggravated acne, but can also cause other sensitivities.
Two to three times a day for cleansing is plenty.

Self-trauma means that you are scratching or picking the skin until the raised portion of the acne lesion is literally scraped off the skin- this is done usually with your fingernails. Sometimes we do this picking without even knowing that we are doing it. Picking becomes a habit that needs to be broken. These lesions that you are picking the scab off will never heal properly. Fingernails carry so many germs and while picking you can cause other types of infections besides the acne.
Try wearing loose fitting clothe gloves while sitting, reading and watching tv. The feel of the glove will signal to you that you are picking or scratching at your skin.

  4. Step 4

TREATMENT PRODUCTS AND INGREDIENTS FOR ACNE:

    BENZOYL PEROXIDE

BENZOYL PEROXIDE- Works well on most forms of acne and pimples.
Benzoyl peroxide works by peeling off excess cell build up, it temporarily opens up the follicle and breaks up the infection and debris. It also releases oxygen into the follicle which helps to kill bacteria that causes infection in the first place.

Benzoyl peroxide comes in many different forms such as, masks, creams, gels, and lotions.

Benzoyl peroxide comes in 3 different strengths:
2 1/2% for mild acne and for sensitive skin
    5% for moderate acne
    10% for severe acne
All three are usually in over the counter products. Any stronger strengths you have to get through a Doctor.

Scrubs and foaming cleansers contain benzoyl peroxide. Some people can and or become allergic to benzoyl peroxide. There are recommended usage for this product.

  5. Step 5

    RECOMMENDED USAGE FOR BENZOYL PEROXIDE:

Most people will not know if they are allergic to this product until they use it. You may easy mistake and allergy to over using of the product.
If you over use benzoyl peroxide the results are peeling and irritation.

Benzoyl peroxide may be used as keratolytic which is agent that loosens and softens for the aid of shedding skin cells. It will loosen opened and closed blackheads. Benzoyl peroxide is also used for preventive maintenance.

Benzoyl peroxide is a drying agent, which cause the peeling which can make lines and wrinkles more visible. As the dead skin cell buildup is removed, lines and wrinkles diminish. The pimples and acne are begging to heal and just when all this start to take place some people stop using the product. The drying and peeling can be aggravating to some. To help deal with what the product is doing which is healing the acne, using a non clogging(noncomedongenic) moisturizer will make the skin more comfortable as well as make the dry areas look smoother. Benzoyl peroxide is usually used as a night treatment

A true allergic reaction to benzoyl peroxide is severe itching, burning, hives and rash. If any of these occur on your skin discontinue the use of benzoyl peroxide immediately.

    SULFUR AND RESORCINOL

These are combined in an acne-drying product.
The acne-drying products come in the forms of gels, creams, masks and spot treatments.
Sulfur and resorcinol are ideal for use to those who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide. They work the same way benzoyl peroxide does. They are also irritants and can cause irritation or allergic reaction.
These are also used at night.

SALICLYLIC ACID: The middles of all the drying agents. These are usually in lotion form, incorporated in a moisturizing base.
Saliclyic acid in oral form is known as asprin. If you are allergic to asprin than you would not want to use any product that contain salicylic acid.
These products are for daytime treatments.

    GLYCOLIC ACID:
One of the newer treatments, it softens but will not have as much peeling. Found over the counter and comes in perscription strenths.
When applied to the skin there is a slight burning sensation. If the skin is already irritated the burning may be more intense.
