Increase Clientele At Your Small Business
Increase Clientele At Your Small Business

If you are interested in how to increase clientele to your small business, read on and follow these simple tips. This has worked tremendously for our small business and if you put my tips into practice, you will increase your clientele!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Promotional GiveAWays
  • Thank You Notes
  • Special Nights/Special Sales
  1. Step 1

The simplest way to build clientele at your business is by displaying a professional attitude ALWAYS (even on your bad days) and treating people the way you would want to be treated. Offering exceptional customer service will always bring back repeat business and will spread the word by word-of-mouth to help drive more traffic to your business. Check out my article about How To Provide Effective Customer Service In Small Business for more tips on how to offer personal service.

  2. Step 2

Create a few different special nights for your business during the year and offer extra sales on your products. Every year we hold a Christmas Open House and have increased our profit on this night every year we have it. Offering an extra 10% or 20% off your items will display to your clients that you are mindful about people saving money. Other ideas could include A Full-Time Working People night, Superbowl Girls Day Out night, Open Houses when seasons change, and more. Use your insight on your business to determine your biggest product sales and slash prices on it during these special nights! GET THE WORD OUT when you offer these special nights and sales and drive more traffic to your door!

  3. Step 3

Always have on hand a few gifts to give away for high-paying clients. Offer them free samples, pencils with your business name and logo on it, magnets, bookmarks, a candle, a sticky notepad or any other little items. You can find a lot of these items at local Dollar Stores or check out vistaprint.com to see how they can help you with marketing solutions.

  4. Step 4

Have your business logo printed on your shopping bags. There are easy ways to dress up your shopping bags. You can customize by making sticker labels with your business name, phone number, and logo by a easy-to-follow publishing program such as Print Shop. Purchase a stamp from vistaprint.com with your business information and stamp your bags. Savvy people will usually recycle bags ... you have no idea how far they will go!

  5. Step 5

Always give out a coupon to a new client. These are easy to print up on your own and it will bring in repeat business to your establishment.

  6. Step 6

Follow up high paying transactions with a thank you note. This displays a sense of appreciation to your client and also promotes your business easily. Make sure to compile a list of names and addresses for these exceptional clients. You could also get a Signature Book to have your clients sign and offer you any suggestions on how to improve your business.

  7. Step 7

If you don't already have a website, GET ONE! The internet is loaded with traffic trying to find you and it is a great source to find local businesses. Make sure to update and claim your business on yellowpages.com, google, yahoo, and others. List as much information as you can for free on these sites! Pay a little bit and move your business listing to the top on search engines. All of these tips worked for us in our family-run business. Put these into practice and reap the rewards!

Tips & Warnings
  • Always provide excellent customer service
  • Talk about your business and promote on community bulletin boards by leaving your business card
  • Give away stuff
  • Have special shopping nights
