Things You'll Need:
- Your choice of crackers. ( For example Ritz crackers)
- Eggs ( Amount varies depending on how many fish you would like to serve)
- Garlic Powder
- Pepper
- Salt
- Union Powder
- Thinly sliced fish (White fish preferred)
-
Step 1
First you will need to choose a fish that is thin in order to bread easier. Usually a white fish like Tilapia or Catfish will do the trick.
-
Step 2
Next you will want to crush crackers in a bowl. Now depending on the amount of fish you want to serve, you will need to estimate how many packages of cracker it will take to cook the fish. Smashing the crackers can be done by hand or by placing the crackers in a blender and blending until the crackers are finely crushed. Once you have crushed your crackers into tiny crumbs you will want to add seasoning.
*Add* Salt, Pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Measurements should be tailored to your liking. This can be done by tasting your breading and adding more of whatever seasoning until you reach your desired flavor. -
Step 3
In a separate bowl whip about 2-3 eggs. This is what you will be using to coat the breading to your fish.
-
Step 4
Now that you have everything prepared. Dip a fillet into your bowl of eggs, coat both sides heavily. Once both sides are coated, place the fish into your breading. Roll the fish around gently until the fish is completely covered in crackers.
-
Step 5
Now you are ready to cook your fish. Heat about 2 tablespoons of oil, once your oil is hot, place the fish into the pan. Fry each side until the breaded crumbs turn medium to dark brown.
Serve with any side dish. vgetables, rice and risotto compliment this dish well.
Don't forget fresh squeezed lemon!
