How to Get Strawberries in June, July and August

So you have Strawberry plants and they did not produce nice large Strawberries. Here are steps to achieve a strawberry field you will enjoy.

Things You'll Need:

  • Strawberry plants
  • Soil
  • Mulch
  • Worms
  • Knife
  1. Step 1
    New growth on top and pleanty of roots.

    Purchase your strawberry plants in Early March. Get all three varieties so you can have strawberries June, July and August. As soon as you can get them the better they will be. Make sure you can see some new growth in the package.

  2. Step 2

    Take them out of the bag and separate the plants.

    As soon as you can work the soil. Place them into your garden giving them about twelve inches around each plant.

  4. Step 4

    Add a little mulch to the bottom of the hole. Place the plant on top of the mulch and add soil around the plant.

    Water the plants every two to three day intervals. Decrease the watering if there is moist soil. New growth should start to occur as the weather gets warmer.

  6. Step 6

    You will start to see blooms in late May. Give them a little plant food at this time. Enjoy the fruit when they start to turn red.

Tips & Warnings
  • Once the plants are established don't move them until after they have produced fruit.
  • If runners occur before the fruit is done cut them off.
  • Moving plants before they bear fruit stunts them from producing that year.
