2. Go to Your Local Office
   If you are eligible to get food stamps, next you need to go to and/or make an appointment with your local office handling food stamps. You can find that here: http://www.fns.usda.gov/fsp/outreach/map.htm. You should make an appointment before going because lines can be extremely long when you are trying to get food stamps.

3. Fill out an Application Form for Food Stamps! Next you should fill out an application. Fill it out before going to the office to save time. Call or stop by your local office to get an application for food stamps. In Delaware, Nebraska, West Virginia, Florida, New Jersey, Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts, Washington, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, Rhode Island, Kansas, Tennessee, Maryland, and Texas you can file online! This will save you lots of time when applying to get food stamps.

4. Once you have submitted your application, you will need to conduct an interview at a local office to get your food stamps. Come to the interview prepared with the necessary paperwork in your state. If you qualify you will be given a card that looks like a debit or credit cards and you will have your food stamps.
