How to Make an Easy No-Bake Flag Dessert
Especially if you're targeting Fourth of July, you don't want to turn on the oven in the heat of summer. This easy no-bake flag dessert is a hit at any patriotic celebration. Create layers of pre-made pound cake, whipped topping and strawberries to create a flag that's edible and delicious. Keep it refrigerated until just prior to serving, as the whipped topping must be kept cold. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2 pints of fresh strawberries
- 112-ounce pound cake
- 1 1/3 cups of blueberries
- 1 tub prepared whipped topping, thawed

Slice 1 cup of fresh strawberries and set aside for later use. Cut the remaining fresh strawberries in half and set aside for later use. Slice the pound cake into 16 slices.

Line the bottom of a 12 by 8-inch glass baking dish with 8 slices of pound cake. Top the cake layers with 1 cup of fresh strawberry slices, 1 cup of blueberries and half of the prepared whipped topping.

Place the remaining pound cake slices over the whipped topping. Then spread the remaining whipped topping over the final layer of pound cake to create the white background of the flag.

Use the half strawberries to create the stripes. Place the remaining blueberries in a square to create the background for the stars.

Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with or without ice-cream.

what a great idea!! i've made flag cakes before, but i'll have to try this no-bake recipe! (also, you can make a red-white-and-green cake with kiwi for 5 de mayo) 5* -
