Things You'll Need:
- comb
- warm water
- mild soap
-
Step 1
First take your comb and gently remove hair from the brush. Use a wide tooth comb for brushes that have epoxy tips (those round balls on the ends)and a finer tooth comb for nylon or boar hair bristles. You don't want to pull the hair from the brush as this can cause damage to the bristles, bend them or pull of the epoxy tips.
-
Step 2
Fill your sink or a bowl with warm water and a mild soap, you can use shampoo, hand soap, or special brush cleaning soaps that can be found in beauty supply stores and some drug stores. Swish the brush in the water to remove any build up.
-
Step 3
Rinse the brush under warm water to remove all the soap then shake out any excess water and set the brush on a towel. Let the brush air dry.
