Below, I've outlined some steps to encourage others on how to be grateful and appreciate. A difficult thing to do in life. I realize the steps below are brief, but they are meant to be tips or reminders, and a tongue in cheek approach to this difficult problem in life.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • open mind
  • open heart
  • open will
  1. Step 1

Slow down, if you can. You may have to, it will be good for you.

  2. Step 2

Don't be overly judgmental. You can't help but be judgmental sometimes. Just don't over do it. Because perfection can get in the way of your overall enjoyment of life.

  3. Step 3

Watch your anger, it can turn into something good, but it can also overtake you. Anger is sometimes unavoidable, but it also seems to lead to a creative result as well.

  4. Step 4

Keep it simple. Life is too short.

  5. Step 5

Live, love, learn. You may find happiness there.

  6. Step 6

Stay "armed and ready." That is, be alert, prepared, vigilant. You never know what life is going to bring you. Good or bad. Or indifferent.

  7. Step 7

Take pleasure in the small things, because when you have nothing else, they are all you have. These things will always be there for you, hidden and satisfying.

  8. Step 8

It's complicated, so repeat if necessary. These steps are meant to be tips or reminders, if not some kernel of truth, in the search for something meaningful.
