Honeywell thermostats provide features like programmable heating and cooling schedules, the ability to set different times and temperatures for weekdays and weekends and a power failure back-up so you do not have to reset the thermostat when the power goes out. Honeywell thermostats are designed to be easily used. You can set a program, use the provided pre-programmed schedule, or control temperature manually. For best results you should know how long it takes for your home to change temperature so you always wake up to and return to a comfortable home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make your schedule. Plan when you wake up, when you leave, when you return home and when you go to sleep, and then factor in enough time for the heating or cooling system to reach the optimum temperature.

  2. Step 2

Set the time and day by pressing the "Select" button twice. Use the up and down triangular buttons to set the time.

  3. Step 3

Program your thermostat for your weekday routine. Choose which system you are programming by sliding the "System" switch to "Heat" or "Cool." Press "Select" and use the triangle buttons to choose the time you want the system to kick in. Then, choose the temperature by pressing "Select" again and use the triangle buttons to choose the appropriate temperature. Use the same process to choose the leave time and temperature, return time and temperature, and a sleep time and temperature.

  4. Step 4

Program your thermostat for your weekend routine. When you are done with the weekday sleep time, press "Select" again and go through the same selection process for the weekend. After you set the weekend sleep time press "Select" once more. End will show on the display to show programming is finished.

  5. Step 5

Set a temporary temperature hold by adjusting the temperature with the up and down triangle buttons. The temperature will remain until the next scheduled program period takes effect.

  6. Step 6

Set an indefinite temperature by pressing "Hold" and setting the temperature with the triangle buttons. Cancel the indefinite temperature by pressing the "Hold" button again.
