How to Naturally Treat Rosacea

Rosacea is a common skin condition that involves inflammation and redness of the skin. It is sometimes referred to as a type of acne, though it has no relation to blackheads and pimples. It is a fairly easy condition to treat and you won't have to resort to medicines containing toxins to do so.

Notice the first signs of rosacea. It starts with the appearance of blushing easily and spreads from there. Eventually, there will be permanent red splotches on your face and your skin will likely be swollen in these spots. Know these symptoms so you can accurately begin treatment.

Go to your doctor to get a firm and solid diagnosis. Rosacea needs to be confirmed by your doctor before you begin treatments in order to make sure the skin reddening is not a symptom of something else.

    • 3

Add more sulfur to your diet or to your daily regime. Sulfur is a common treatment for rosacea and many doctors would use it even over oral antibiotics. You can take a number of supplements that contain sulfur, or look for special topical cremes that have sulfur in them. Sulfur's ability to treat rosacea was found in a study titled "Symposium on the Treatment of Skin: The Treatment of Perioral Dermatitis, Acne Rosacea and Seborrheic Dermatitis."

Use a salicylic acid creme once a day as a natural treatment for the inflammation caused by rosacea. Do not use it more than once a day and discontinue using it if it dries out your skin too much, as it can sometimes do. A survey performed by the National Rosacea Society found that those suffering from rosacea generally found relief from using salicylic acid.

Use cremes that also contain extracts from golden chamomile, or Chrysanthellum indicum. This is one of the best natural rosacea treatments and also helps to treat various skin rashes. A study performed by Martin and Associates examines the anti-inflammatory affect of this herb and its affect on rosacea.

Tips & Warnings

  • Look for cremes that contain golden chamomile and sulfur in order to save money and time.
