How to Make Clutch Purses
Clutch purses make it easy to carry a few necessities on the go. It's easy to make clutch purses and you can design them any way you like. Use loud, busy fabric or dainty floral fabric, depending on your mood and preference. Here's how.
Things You'll Need
- 7- by-15 inch fabric Sewing machine Hand sewing needle Thread Iron Craft knife Fabric marker Large decorative button

Fold the fabric over with the right side up, so that it measures 7-by-7 1/2 inches.

Iron along the folded side to flatten the fabric.

Sew a single stitch all the way around the rectangle.

Fold the fabric horizontally about two-thirds of the way to the top.

Iron the bottom of the fold.

Sew a single stitch along edge of the fold on both sides.

Fold the top over the pocket to make a flap.

Cut a 1 inch line about ½ inch above the bottom of the flap using a craft knife.

Hand sew around the hole in the flap using a slip stitch.

Fold the flap back over and place a small dot under the hole using a fabric marker.

Sew the button onto the outside of the pocket.

Fasten the button through the hole.
