Things You'll Need:
- Paper Craft foam Pencil Scissors Fabrics (variety of colors and materials) Decorations (feathers, glitter, beads) Flat-backed rhinestones Tweezers Toothpick Craft Glue Chopstick Ribbon or paint (optional)

Step 1
Draw the shape of your mask on a piece of paper. Cut it out and try it over your face to assess whether it fits correctly. Adjust the shape accordingly. Make sure to cut out the eye holes to make sure they fit correctly as well.

Step 2
When the paper mask is the correct shape, hold it against the craft foam and trace it. Cut along the lines that you have traced to form the base of your mask.

Glue pieces of the basic opaque fabric over your mask. Your goal should be to cover most of the craft foam. If very small sections remain uncovered, make sure they are covered in later steps. The fabric pieces can be one color or multicolored. They should be about 1 square inch, but multiple sizes work well too.

Step 4
Add another layer of fabric. This layer should consist of more decorative or translucent pieces, such as lace, netting or tulle.

Step 5
Add decorations to your mask. Feathers are important decorations for a masquerade mask. You may wish to add feathers in an arc around the top edge of your mask. Alternatively, you may add the feathers on one top corner of the mask for a different effect.

Step 6
Add rhinestones to your mask. To add a rhinestone, hold it with tweezers and apply glue to it with a toothpick. Then press it in place. Rhinestones work particularly well as a border around the eyes, or concentrated in the center of the forehead.

Step 7
Paint the chopstick or wind ribbon around it or leave the chopstick plain. This will be the mask's stem.

Glue the skinny end of the chopstick to the backside of the mask, along one side.
