Things You'll Need:
- Ethernet cable
-
Step 1
Connect any computer to the router using an Ethernet cable. The cable plugs into the computer's networking port and into any of the free ports on the back of the router. You can also use a computer that is already connected via physical cable.
-
Step 2
Open your web browser and type "192.168.1.1" into the address bar, then press "Enter". When prompted for your login credentials, leave the "user name" field blank and enter "admin" for the password. Click on the "Wireless" tab, followed by "Wireless Security". The network key will be displayed in the "shared key" box on the page that appears. You can either write down the existing key and continue using it or change it by entering the new key and clicking "Save Settings".
-
Step 3
Access the router with your wireless computers. When prompted for the network key, enter the one you just created. Remember to store your new network key in a safe location so you have it on hand for future use.
