If you have changed the factory settings on your Dell Inspiron 5150 laptop, you can revert to the original settings at any time. This will revert all BIOS settings, including your onboard devices, video settings, security settings, power management, POST behavior and wireless controls and devices. It will not erase any files or programs on your computer.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Restart your laptop.

  2. Step 2

Press F2 repeatedly (do not just hold it down) to enter the BIOS setting as the laptop restarts.

  3. Step 3

Arrow down to "Maintenance" in the BIOS settings menu at left.

  4. Step 4

Arrow right to "Load Defaults" and hit "Enter" on your keyboard.

  5. Step 5

Arrow right to "Continue" and hit "Enter" on your keyboard.

  6. Step 6

Hit "Escape" on your keyboard to proceed to the exit screen of the BIOS settings.

  7. Step 7

Arrow right to "Save/Exit" and hit "Enter" on your keyboard.

Tips & Warnings
  • A reboot of the factory settings on your Dell laptop is not permanent, but you may wish to write down your custom settings before proceeding. That way you can adjust the settings back to your previous preferences if you wish.
