How to Draw a Skull and Crossbones
Whether you're trying to create a pirate flag for a party or just want to add some killer artistic skills to your drawing arsenal, learning to draw a skull and crossbones is a great way to do that. When you're drawing the skull and crossbones, give yourself room to make mistakes. Your first 10 tries might not be Van Gogh quality, but you'll improve every time you try.
Instructions
-
-
1
Lightly draw a circle with your pencil to outline where the skull goes.
-
2
Draw the eye sockets --- these are generally large, dark holes in the skull.
-
-
3
Draw the nose. It should be triangular in shape and may have an indent in the middle.
-
4
Sketch the cheekbones and chin. The cheek bones jut out, while the chin pulls in sharply to create an angular and scary-looking face.
-
5
Sketch in the teeth. Start lightly, as this part can be a little tricky. Define individual teeth first, then go back and darken the lines.
-
6
Draw the basic shape of the crossbones behind the skull. The ends tend to be bulblike and rounded, while the bones themselves are straight.
-
7
Shade in and perfect the bones and skull. Add texture, shadows and other details. Consider adding cracks or holes for added effect.
