How to Make a Tea Cup Wind Chime
Shabby chic is a popular decor in many homes. If you have adopted this look and enjoy searching for items that compliment this style then you likely spend time scouring antique and thrift shops.
Wind chimes can compliment this decor if they are created from interesting or unique items. One such item may be an old mismatched tea set. With a few tools and supplies, you could create a one-of-a-kind wind chime for a porch that is decorated in a shabby chic decor.

1
Paint the plaque with your desired finish.
-
2
Mount the board to the ceiling. Drill appropriate holes through the plaque and attach to your desired location with long wood screws.
-
-
3
Drill one small hole into each saucer. Position the hole approximately one inch in from an edge.
-
4
Cut 4 equal lengths of ribbon. The length is your choice. You can make the length approximate and cut off any excess when you are finished.
-
5
Tie one end of each ribbon around the handle of each tea cup. Make sure the knots are secure.
-
6
Thread each length of ribbon through the hole drilled in a saucer. Position the saucer where you want it on the ribbon, and tie an overhand knot around each hole to hold the saucer in place on the length of ribbon.
-
7
Staple the remaining end of each ribbon to the wood plaque. Position the ribbons evenly on the plaque so that the placement is symmetrical.
