Things You'll Need:
- Basket Tissue paper Ribbon, 2-inch wide minimum Glue gun and glue sticks Tissue paper Gift items Cellophane basket wrap Bow
-
Step 1
Select the gifts for your country themed basket. Candles, herbs and sunflowers bring warmth and country charm to any home. Homemade jams, soups, bread and muffins are welcome additions from your kitchen to the gift basket. Mason jars filled with fresh potpourri or homemade bath salts also fit well in a country themed basket. Add a bit of ribbon to the jars or a swatch of checked cloth to the lids for a special presentation. You can find fabrics, ribbons, jars and a variety of gift ideas at your local craft supply store.
-
Step 2
Find a basket big enough to hold your country gift items. Craft stores, discount stores and home design stores have baskets that will work for this project.
-
Step 3
Cut a length of ribbon to fit around the rim of your basket. Attach the ribbon to the basket with the glue gun. You can attach the ribbon so that it folds over the rim, with half on the inside of the basket and half on the outside; or you can place the ribbon at the edge of the rim on the outside of the basket.
-
Step 4
Fill the basket with crumpled tissue and then arrange the gifts inside. You don't have to wrap the individual gifts unless this is your preference. The cellophane will camouflage the contents of the basket.
-
Step 5
Place the basket inside the cellophane basket wrap. Secure the end with more of the same ribbon you used around the rim of the basket.
-
Step 6
Make a bow from the ribbon or buy a large bow that coordinates with your ribbon and place it on top of the basket.
