Things You'll Need:
- Memory wire Wire cutter Metal jewelry file Super Glue End cap beads (2) Crucifix charm Hail Mary beads (53) Our Father beads (6) Miraculous medal charm Decorative spacer beads (optional) Round nose pliers (optional)
-
Step 1
Create a four- or five-loop coil using your memory wire. Make sure each loop in the coil is bracelet-sized equally approximately the size of a bangle bracelet. It is important that you use memory wire, as this type of wire is made specifically to retain its shape while still possessing the ability to be shaped for size.
-
Step 2
Using your wire cutters, cut the memory wire after the last loop of your coil. While it may be tempting to use just any pair of wire cutters, keep in mind that memory wire is not your typical wire and can easily damage wire cutters that are not made for use with it.
-
Step 3
Take the memory wire coil and gently file both ends with a metal jewelry file to create a slightly rougher surface on each end.
-
Step 4
Apply a small amount of Super Glue to one of the filed wire ends. Do not apply the glue to both ends. Immediately attach one of the end cap beads by sliding the glued wire end into the end cap bead's hole. Hold it together for a minute to secure, and then let it set for 20 minutes to an hour.
-
Step 5
Slide your selected crucifix charm onto the wire at the open end, and slide it all the way down to the end cap bead.
-
Step 6
Begin beading your bracelet in this order: (3) Hail Mary beads, (1) Our Father bead, (10) Hail Mary beads, (1) Our Father bead, (10) Hail Mary beads, (1) Our Father bead, (10) Hail Mary beads, (1) Our Father bead, (10) Hail Mary beads, (1) Our Father bead, (10) Hail Mary beads, (1) Our Father bead. In total you will have (53) Hail Mary beads and (6) Our Father beads. Keep in mind that you will want the Our Father beads to be different from the Hail Mary beads in both color and size--select a slightly larger size and a color that creates a nice contrast.
-
Step 7
Slide your chosen miraculous medal charm onto the wire and slide down to meet the beads.
-
Step 8
Trim the excess memory wire using your wire cutters, making sure to leave enough wire for the end cap bead to be applied (usually a quarter of an inch or more).
-
Step 9
Apply a small amount of Super Glue to the wire end and apply the end cap bead like you did in Step 4 by sliding the glued wire end into the end cap bead's hole. Let it set for 20 minutes to an hour before wearing your bracelet. You can use a pair of round nose pliers to hold the wire for more stability as you are applying the glue and end cap bead.
