How to Make Wanted Posters

Wanted posters are posters created to inform the public of a criminal that is wanted by authorities. It can also be made just for fun to be printed or used on a website. You can make a wanted poster for a family member, friend, child, pet, athlete, co-worker or anyone else. All you need is a picture of the "wanted" person (or animal) and a little time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Picture
  1. Step 1

    Get a photo of the wanted person. Try to find one that has a white background. Use a picture that has a close-up of the face. Save this picture on your computer.

  2. Step 2

    Go to the wanted-poster generator listed in Resources. Turn off any pop-up blockers you have on your Internet browser.

  3. Step 3

    Click on the "Browse" button. Locate the picture for the wanted poster on your computer. Click on "Open" to upload the picture.

  4. Step 4

    Type the name of the wanted person in the "Name" field. Be creative and use a nickname.

  5. Step 5

    Come up with an amount for the "Reward" field. Type this number in the space provided or use the default $2500.

  6. Step 6

    Add the crime to the wanted poster. Insert this information in the space under "Wanted For."

  7. Step 7

    Pick the photo size. The default setting is "Normal," but you can change it to "Small" if you want to. This will make a smaller version of the wanted poster.

  8. Step 8

    Click on the "Make Wanted Poster" button to create the poster. View it in the space below.

  9. Step 9

    Save a copy of the wanted poster. Right-click on the poster. Select "Save Picture As." Choose the file to save it in, rename it (if wanted) and then click on "Save."

Tips & Warnings
  • If you need ideas, browse some of the suggested crimes. Click on the "Suggested Crimes" link under the "Wanted For" area to view a large list of crimes. Each is divided among various categories of criminals.
