How to Clean Electric Stove Coils
No matter how careful one is while cooking, accidents and spills happen. The most common victim of these spills is the electric stove coils on an electric stove. Spills find their way to the coils and stay there to burn, causing smoke and undesirable smells that can discolor the coils in addition to setting off the smoke alarm. Washing the Coils

Ensure that the stove is turned off and the coils are cool. Remove the coils from the stove top by unplugging them.

Wash the coils with a mixture of warm water and a mild dish soap, and avoid getting the electrical connections wet. Use a soft clean cloth to gently scrub away any loose food or debris.

Rinse the coils with clear water to remove all soap and food particles.

Dry the coils with a soft clean dry cloth before plugging them back into the stove.

Make a paste of equal parts baking soda and water.

Apply the paste to the stained areas with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid getting the electrical connections wet.

Allow the paste to sit on the stains for 30 minutes.
