How to Make a Balloon Archway
Balloon archways can bring a room to life and set the tone of any party, shower or event. Making a balloon arch is relatively easy. You can create a dazzling pattern of balloons with color, or interlink arches and for a more elaborate look. A all-white balloon archway can even be the perfect spot to say "I do." Measure the distance from wall to wall or from post to post, where the arch will be tied to. Decide how high up you want the arch to reach. If the space is small width-wise, then you should have a higher arch. If the space is wide, then go with a lower arch that gradually rises.

Unroll the ribbon and measure out 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 times the length of the space the arch will cover. This will give you enough ribbon to allow for an arch and tie on the balloons.

Fill up a couple balloons with helium and tie them off into knots. Make sure you do this in an area with low ceilings or have someone hold them as you fill them so you aren't chasing after stray balloons. Start at one end of the ribbon. Leave 1 foot of ribbon free. Tie the first balloon on 1 foot inward on the ribbon using a basic double-knot method.

Continue to inflate balloons, knot off the ends and tie onto the ribbon. Try to space the balloons about 6 inches apart. Do this all the way down the ribbon until you only have 1 foot of empty ribbon left on either side.

This step is optional: Inflate different color smaller balloons. Tie these onto the ribbon with a single knot in the 6-inch space between the larger balloons. You can do this for every space or every other space to create a unique pattern.

Hang the balloon archway. Have one person hold one end and another hold the other. Attach one end to the wall or pole or post by tying on or stapling to the area. Then repeat on the opposite side.

Tips & Warnings
Sketch out your design or pattern on paper first before assembling the arch.
Don't allow the arch to float to high, or else it may hit the ceiling and pop several balloons.
