Step 1
Choose a wash for your line of jeans. The "wash" for jeans refers to the texture of the denim. You should offer the jeans in your line in a variety of washes including a light wash, stone wash, dark wash, distressed wash or acid wash. Acid wash refers to jeans that have been washed with chlorine to cover the jeans in a white pattern. Distressed wash refers to jeans that look like they've been worn and may even have a few deliberate tears in them.

Step 2
Choose different types of cut. Make sure there is a variety of cuts in your line of jeans for consumers to choose from, such as boot cut, skinny, wide leg, straight leg or bell bottoms, which is a very wide leg design.

Step 3
Decide on the pocket style. Most jeans have two pockets in the front with a smaller pocket inside one of the main pockets. Many jeans also have two back pockets. Also, decide on a type of closure for the jeans. You can choose between a button fly or zip fly, or a combination of both. Of course, you can play with the number and styles of pockets as you're designing. Each style in your line of jeans can have a unique number of pockets.

Step 4
Decide if you'd like any embellishments on your jeans. You can decorate them with embroidery, logos, appliques, beads, etc. You can have thick stitches that are visible down the jean legs, studs or rhinestones placed strategically on the legs, or embroidered designs covering the pockets.

Step 5
Choose a color for your jeans. The possibilities are many when it comes to choosing a color for your jeans. You can pick traditional colors like light blue, deep blue, black, gray or white. You can also pick more unusual colors like green, red, beige, etc. If your line of jeans is large enough, you can have a style in almost every color.
