How to Remove USB Malware
Most flash drives have a great deal of inherent system protection that safeguards against viruses and other malware. But if you believe your USB flash drive has been infected, there is a freeware program designed specifically to scan for and remove malware from your USB drive.

Go to the sUB site (see additional resources) and download the Flash Disinfector software. Save the software to your desktop.

Double-click the .exe file to launch the program. Don't be alarmed if your desktop images disappear, it's just part of the program.

The program will run a scan on your hard drive first. It will perform an automatic sweep and repair any problems. It will also create an .inf file to prevent infections in the future.

Insert your flash drive when prompted. The program will scan, sweep and remove any malware from your flash drive.

Close out of the program when the fixes are finished. Eject/remove your flash drive.

Reboot your computer.

Insert your USB flash drive again and you should have no more problems.
