Things You'll Need:
- 1 block each white, yellow, pink and green polymer clay Clay knife Open-centered circle template Y-shaped template Pasta machine Clay roller Oven Acrylic floor polish Paintbrush or sponge 30 inches black cord
-
Step 1
Slice off a half-inch of each polymer clay block. Knead the clay with your hands until it is soft and easy to work with.
-
Step 2
Roll each color of softened clay through the second largest setting on the pasta machine. Stack any two colors together and roll them through the pasta machine as one. Repeat the process until you have just one multicolored sheet of clay.
-
Step 3
Place your open-centered circle template on the sheet of clay and cut out the shape carefully with your clay knife. If you accidentally cut the circle, press the clay back together with your fingers. Clay is very forgiving.
-
Step 4
Place the Y template over the sheet of clay, and cut it out. Invert the Y and place it inside of the open circle. Maneuver the clay until the upside-down Y is touching the inside of the circle on all three points. Roll the clay roller over the clay peace sign to further join the Y and the circle together and to smooth out the surface.
-
Step 5
Place the peace sign face down on top of a baking sheet. Cut a sliver of clay from the multicolored sheet and make a loop on the back of the peace sign for the cord to pass through.
-
Step 6
Bake the peace sign in the oven according to the clay manufacturer's instructions. Let it cool and coat it several times with acrylic floor polish, letting the polish dry completely between coats.
-
Step 7
Thread the black cord through your clay peace sign and and knot it for a groovy necklace.
