Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the dryer from its power source and pull it away from the wall.

    • 2

Lift the top lid of the dryer up and tilt it towards the back.

    • 3

Remove the two screws in the front corners that hold the front of the dryer in place. Pull out on the front of the dryer until it tilts forwards.

    • 4

Look at the dryer drum. The dryer drum is the large barrel that spins your clothing as it dries. Lift up gently on the dryer drum and pull off the old belt, and slide the new belt under the front and around the dryer drum. You may open the dryer door for easier access to the bottom of the drum. Make sure the belt is not twisted.

    • 5

Remove the back of the dryer and locate the pulley wheel. The pulley wheel is typically located in the bottom right housing at the back of the dryer, although this placement could vary with your model. There will be two wheel gears. One large wheel that is slightly higher than the smaller wheel. Thread the belt into the groove and over the large wheel, then under the smaller wheel. The belt will be running between the two wheels, almost in an "S" shape.

    • 6

Replace the dryer back and front, securing with the screws that were removed. Close the top back down tightly.

    • 7

Plug the dryer back in to its power source and turn it on and test the drum for a spin. If you are unable to establish that the dryer is working or the drum is spinning, call a professional technician.

Tips & Warnings

  • Have an assistant close by to pass you your tools and help you move the dryer. It will save you a great deal of time.

  • Never work on a dryer without completely disconnecting it from its power source.
