Look through bridal magazines and pull out photos of designs you like. Look for details like necklines, hems, colors, bodices and such that catch your eye and you find appealing. Keep all these tear outs or cut outs in a folder.

Go to some bridal salons and try on numerous dresses. Even try on dresses that you don't necessarily like or would normally pick because you might be surprised at how they look on. Have a friend take photos of you in the dresses. Take note of your favorites and what elements (such as the neckline) look best on you.

Print out your photos and lay them out on a large table. Then take all the cut outs and lay them on the table as well. Piece together all of your favorite elements. Take a blank piece of paper and paste all your favorite elements together into the same dress to create an overall impression of the dress of your dreams.

Go on the internet and visit the sites listed in the resources section. These allow you to choose elements and piece together your dream dress. One site will even allow you to upload a photo of yourself and design the dress on your body.

Design several dresses and print out the designs from the computer. Lay these beside all your cut out and tear out photo designs so you can choose your favorite dress wedding dress.
