Children love playing with dolls, and adults love collecting them. Whether they're playthings or prized collectibles, all dolls need accessories. With this tutorial, you can learn how to make Native American blankets for your dolls with ease.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Light tan felt The Internet or books about Native Americans Pencil Fabric paint in a variety of colors Black fabric paint Paintbrush
  1. Step 1

Lay the tan piece of felt on a surface covered with newspapers. Brush off any loose fuzz to make sure you have a clean surface.

  2. Step 2

Visit a website or consult a book that specializes in Native American art. Search for a pattern that can be used on the blanket.

  3. Step 3

Use your pencil to draw the design on the piece of felt.

  4. Step 4

Choose the paint colors you are going to use for this project. Paint the design you created on the felt using a paintbrush so you don't have a puffy image. Let dry.

  5. Step 5

Paint an outline around the design using the black paint. Let it dry.

  6. Step 6

Crumple and fold the blanket you just created in order to make sure the paint doesn't stiffen the fabric. Place the blanket in the washer and dryer if necessary in order to fluff the felt and unstiffen the paint.

  7. Step 7

Decorate a doll bed or collector doll with the blanket.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take a brush and brush the felt first before painting. This will soften the fabric and the paint will take better.
