1
Ensure that your surface is appropriately cleaned and smooth before beginning.
-
2
Cut your veneer to the proper shape and size by first marking your cutting lines and running painter's tape along the intended seam. Use the razor knife to cut through the tape and veneer. Remove the tape. This reduces breakage when cutting the veneer.
-
3
Use the glue roller to spread a coat of veneer glue to the surface where the veneer will be installed. Apply a coat of veneer glue, in the same manner, to the backside of the wood veneer.
-
4
Place the wood veneer on the intended surface, and make sure it is properly set.
-
5
Using the rounded edge, grasp the 2-by-4 inch board firmly. Apply gentle pressure to the length of the wood veneer to remove any air bubbles.
-
6
If possible, clamp the wood veneer to the surface, or tape the veneer in place and allow to dry thoroughly. Apply an appropriate finish or stain, if desired.
