How to Destroy Car Speakers

How to Destroy Car Speakers thumbnail
Loud speakers could drive pets nuts

A long car ride can go from solemn to symphonic if you're listening to some great tunes. The music will truly be over, however, if you destroy your car speakers. You can do this several ways. It can be accidental, experimental or even on purpose. Some simple tips tell you how.

Instructions

    • 1

Ignore the speakers' maximum wattage. Say your speakers are rated at 100 watts maximum. This means the highest wattage you can play through the speakers for any length of time is 100 watts. Sure, you can still hook up a car stereo system that may have an amplifier that maxes out at 300 watts, but if you blast the system to its 300-watt capacity it will destroy the car speakers in no time.

    • 2

Ignore the speakers' minimum wattage. On the flip side, speakers powered by a low-powered amplifier can also be damaged if you try to blast the sound. Playing a low-powered system too loudly on the speakers will distort the sound waves, and the distortion, too, will destroy your speakers.

    • 3

Crank them regardless of any maximum or minimum wattage. Even if you are unsure of what your car speakers can handle, cranking them to the max for any prolonged length of time will surely damage them.

    • 4

Hook them up to a home stereo system. Most car stereo speakers are not equipped to handle the increased output found in most home stereo systems. A good way to destroy the car speakers is to hook them up to the higher-powered home systems and blare the music.

    • 5

Leave pets unattended in the car. Some animals get very antsy when left in the car and will begin chewing or clawing at a number of items. Some especially enjoy ruining the car speakers. Make sure it's neither a freezing hot or blistering cold day and leave your pet in the car for several minutes to see if he helps you destroy your speakers. You can leave the radio on a high-pitched frequency that will annoy the pet and hopefully entice him to destroy what he perceives as the source of the noise.

    • 6

Bludgeon them with a heavy object. If none of the above steps were helpful in destroying your car stereo speakers, you can always take a crowbar, tire iron, hammer or meat tenderizer and bash the heck out of them.
