How to Make Black & White Birthday Cards

Black and white birthday cards are elegant, timeless and simple enough to send for any age. Although they seem to be hard to find in stores, you can easily make your own.

Things You'll Need

• Graphics editing software Card stock or photo paper Printer

Instructions

1. Open a blank page in your editing software. Set the size to 4 inches by 6 inches.

2. Change the foreground color to black and the background color to white.

3. 

   Use the paint bucket tool to fill the background of your page with black.

4. 

   Switch to the background color and make a balloon in white, using the Shape tool. Place the balloon where you would like on the card.

5. 

   Use the pencil tool to draw a string on the balloon.

6. Duplicate the balloon a few times so that you have a bouquet of balloons.

7. 

   Add a shadow to the balloons using the Layer Styles tool.

8. 

   Type a saying, quote or birthday wishes using the Text tool.

9. Print your black and white birthday cards on card stock or photo paper using your home printer, or send them to a printing company to be printed on professional paper.
