How to Make Bridal Veil Crafts
Your wedding day is over, and you'd like to do more with your bridal veil than hang it in a closet, unseen. Depending on the style and length of your veil, you could make everything from curtains for your bedroom to lingerie. Sachets filled with aromatic flowers and herbs are simple bridal veil crafts you can make from just about any wedding veil. Place them in your lingerie drawer or your spouse's luggage for a sweet surprise. You could also share them with your mom and others in your life who also treasure the memory of your wedding day.

1
Measure a section of veil 10 inches by 4 inches. Cut the veil to these dimensions, one for each sachet you are making.
-
2
Lay the cut swatch of veil face down. Fold ¼ inch around the outside perimeter and pin it down. Iron the folded edge to create a smooth crease.
-
-
3
Sew the folded edge down with a straight stitch on a sewing machine or by hand. Fold the swatch in half, face to face. Iron the fold.
-
4
Sew the two sides together, leaving the opening at the top of your sachet. Iron the sachet so that the sides are crisp. Flip the bridal veil sachet inside out.
-
5
Fill the sachet with potpourri and tie the top securely with ribbon. Make sure you do not tie a knot in the ribbon so that it is easier to open and close. You will need to add fresh potpourri periodically.

Select fresh flowers and herbs from your garden. It's best to pick the flowers in the morning, after the dew has evaporated as the fragrance is most potent then. Lavender, roses and gardenia make a beautiful potpourri. Flowers and herbs shrink when dried, so cut about four times as much plant material as you need for your finished product.
-
7
Gather the flowers in small bunches, being careful not to bruise the petals. Secure them with a rubber band and hang them upside down in a dark, warm place to dry. The drying process should take about 2 weeks.
-
8
Place the dried flowers in a sealed container with 6 drops of your favorite essential oil for every cup of plant material. Stir the contents daily for several weeks to allow the dried flowers to absorb the fragrance of the essential oil.
