Adding videos to an iPod 3rd Generation is not difficult, but you must follow a few select steps. You need to know if your iPod is set to sync "all videos" when it is connected, or to sync "select" videos. If you have a large video library, it is more practical to set your iPod up to sync "select" videos.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • PC with iTunes installed PC/iPod connection cable
  1. Step 1

    Open iTunes on your PC.

  2. Step 2

Connect your iPod to the PC using the connection cable.

  3. Step 3

Select your iPod in the source pane list of iTunes, on the left side of the screen.

  4. Step 4

Select the "Manually sync" option when the options for syncing music and video are displayed. This gives you total control of what is put on your iPod when it connects to iTunes.

  5. Step 5

Click on the "Movies" library in iTunes.

  6. Step 6

Click on the video you wish to put on your iPod and drag it over top of the iPod icon on the source pane list. Continue doing this until you have added all the videos you want to put in the iPod.

  7. Step 7

Eject your iPod from iTunes with the "Eject" button in the source pane list before removing it from your computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make a playlist of videos you wish to sync to your iPod and then select "Sync playlists" under the movies tab, instead of syncing the videos individually.
  • Never disconnect your iPod from the computer without first ejecting it from the iPod source pane list, as this can cause it to freeze up.
