Make a Blanket with Sleeves
-
1
Measure a 24-by-60 inch section of the fleece. Cut.
-
2
Cut this removed portion in half. You should now have two 24-by-30 inch portions of fleece.
-
-
3
Make the first sleeve. Fold one 24-inch piece in half to create a 12-inch by 30-inch piece. Stitch along the raw 30-inch side with a 1/2-inch seam allowance.
Repeat with the other 24-inch piece. -
4
Cut holes for the sleeves in the large piece of fleece. Measure 15 inches down from one edge of a 60-inch side. Place a pin to mark. Measure 11 inches to the left and right of this point. Place pins again to mark. Carefully make a 9-inch long by 6-inch wide cut between these marks. The cut should be oval in shape.
-
5
Match the right sides of the blanket and a sleeve and sew a sleeve into one of the oval shapes you just cut out. If there is extra fabric on the blanket side, ease it carefully as you stitch.
-
6
Repeat with the other sleeve to finish the blanket.
