Vintage clothing is delicate and susceptible to horrid stains. The way to remove them is with care and gentle but effective products. Learn how to carefully treat and remove baby formula stains from vintage clothes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mild detergent Oxyclean Denture cleaning tabs Hot water
  1. Step 1

First and foremost, you should get all residue off of the stain by washing it in the washer. If dealing with lace, hand wash with mild detergent.

  2. Step 2

Depending on the fabric, you'll have to use a gentle cleanser like Oxyclean in the regular wash. To do this, soak clothes in Oxyclean for at least an hour and then send through the wash. Stain should have lifted a bit in soaking.

  3. Step 3

For fabrics like cotton, polyester, wool and rayon, use a solution with more cleaning power for the stubborn fabrics. Soak in hot water first for an hour to soften the fabric.

  4. Step 4

Add four or five denture cleaning tablets to the water. This will break up and likely pull out the stain.

  5. Step 5

For silk clothing, soak in lukewarm water and place mild detergent and two denture tablets in the water and rub fabric gently until stain lifts. Your clothing should be free of the stain after this process.
