How to Remove AntiMalware Guard

AntiMalware Guard is one of the many fake anti-spyware viruses that, when installed to your computer without your knowledge, generates pop-ups informing you about a virus infection in your system. The pop-ups offer a free system scan, which finds supposed viruses and then offers you the chance to buy a full version of AntiMalware Guard. However, there are no viruses on your computer and the AntiMalware Guard's sole purpose is to steal your private information. Here is how to remove this dangerous problem.

Instructions

Ending AntiMalware Guard Processes

1. Press "Ctrl, Shift and Esc" at the same time. This will bring up the Task Manager window.

2. Click on the "Processes" tab and locate the following processes: smamg.exe, AntieMalwareGF[1].exe, AMGFreeUpdate[1].exe, AntiMalwareGuard_Free[1].exe.

3. Press the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and click on each of the processes to highlight them.

4. Click "End" at the bottom of the Task Manager Window.

Deleting AntiMalware Guard files

1. Go to the "Start" menu.

2. Click on "Search." This action will bring up the "Search" window.

3. Click "For Files and Folders."

4. Click "All Files and Folders."

5. In the search line, type "AntiMalwareGuard_Free[1].exe" and click "Search." This action will locate the file on your system and will display it in the window.

6. Click on the file to highlight it and then press "Delete" on your keyboard.

7. Repeat steps 1-6 to find and delete the following files: AMGFreeUpdate[1].exe, AntieMalwareGF[1].exe, smamg.exe.

Removing the AntiMalware Guard Registry Values

1. Go to "Start" menu.

2. Click "Run."

3. Type "regedit" and then click "OK." This action will open the "Registry Editor" window.

4. Locate and delete the following subkeys: Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MenuOrder\Start Menu2\Programs\AntiMalwareGuard; Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\SalesMonitor; Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\AntiMalwareGuard; Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\AntiMalwareGuard; AntiMalwareGuard; Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall.
