How to Teach Green Energy Methods
Teaching children and adults about the benefits of using green energy is important to the environment. There are many types of green energy, such as solar panels, wind energy, geothermal energy and micro hydro energy. Each model for green energy can be taught in different ways. Here are some easy teaching methods.

If you have a local building or structure that uses solar panels, plan a trip with the local schools to see the solar panels. Talk to the children about solar energy and the many ways that solar power can change their lives for the better, such as solar vehicles and solar electricity. Consider investing in a solar system for your own home. When people see your solar panels, they will become curious and will consider a solar system for their home as well.

Visit windmills. Try to schedule trips with local schools and community colleges to any local windmills that may be available. Tell students about how wind energy can greatly decrease the dependence on petroleum by making clean energy available through wind power. If you do not have a windmill in your town, locate a few windmill websites that promote wind power as a means for energy production. If possible, install a windmill on your property or in your yard and make the energy produced usable for your home electricity usage. Seeing the windmill in your yard can generate interest in wind energy and will make the idea of wind energy more accessible.

Find local uses of geothermal energy using the Internet. Research websites that promote geothermal energy as a way to produce clean energy. Discuss this with classrooms and community colleges. If you have a local business that uses geothermal energy, plan a field trip with groups of adults or children to take a tour of the facility.

Drive an electric car. Electric vehicles are becoming more and more available for purchase and make a great green statement. Buying and all electric car or truck will demonstrate to others that electric vehicles are just as powerful and functional as gasoline vehicles. There are many companies that make all electric vehicles for purchase. See the Resources section for a list of electric vehicle companies.
