How to Make a Recovery Disk for Dell Inspiron B130
Buying a new computer can be a large investment, and keeping it stable and free of any malware is important. If you are caught in a situation where your computer has been made almost or totally inoperable by viruses, bugs, or spyware, or if you just want to start your computer off with a clean slate, you will need to use a recovery disk. These disk restore your computer back to its original state, with just the operating system installed. Recovery disks are usually packaged with your new computer, but chances are they have been misplaced and lost. This article will guide you on how to create a new set of recovery disks for your Dell computer.

Turn on your computer. Navigate to the Start menu at the bottom left side of your screen, and open the "All Programs" list.

Locate and click on "Dell Accessories." A new list should appear, click on "Dell OS Recovery CD" on this list.

A license agreement window will pop up. Read through the text, scrolling down if necessary. If you agree to the terms set out by Dell, press "Yes, I Accept." If not, you will not be able to create a recovery disk.

Continue with the prompts by clicking "Next" until you are asked to insert a blank CD into your disk drive. Carefully place your CD-R or CD-RW disk into the drive and press "Next." This will initiate the creation of your recovery disk.

When completed, a "Congratulations!" prompt will appear. Press "Finish." Remove the disk from the drive and with a pen label it appropriately.

Tips & Warnings
Creation of the disk may take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on your computer. Place your new recovery disk in a safe place in case of future use. You may not be able to create one when your computer requires it. Place the CD in a case or holder to prevent scratches or damage.
Do not shut down or unplug your computer while the recovery disk is being created. Doing so may result in a corruption of the disk. Be sure to write on the top of the disk, not the read-only bottom. Writing on the wrong side will cause your CD to become unreadable.
