How to Get Rid of the Limewire Virus
Computer viruses can be easier to contract than most people may think. Viruses vary in the degree of damage they can do to your computer. Some viruses may just make your computer run a little slower; but the limewire virus can cause serious damage to your system. The limewire peer-to-peer network is a great service, however, it also makes it easy for you to become infected with computer viruses. But it is possible to manually remove these viruses yourself.

Reboot your computer in "Safe Mode." To do this, press F8 when your computer first begins to load.

Press the windows start button and select "Search" from the menu that opens.

Search for and delete the file; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\uninstall\limewire, from the "All Files and Folders" section.

Search for and delete the file; HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\menuorder\startmenu\programs\limewire, from the "All Files and Folders" section.

Press the Start windows button and select "My Computer."

Select the Local Disk (C:) drive and open the "program files" folder.

Scroll through the window and delete any folder that has the word "limewire" attached.

Restart your computer and the virus should be gone.
