How to Make Simple Paper Cone Hats
Instead of buying cone party hats for the next birthday party you host, why not plan to have the children make their own party hats as an activity for the party? Kids love craft projects like this, and the hats they could create would likely be much nicer than the hats you might purchase. The materials needed are not unusual or difficult to obtain, so this would be an easy craft to include in your next birthday party.

3
Decorate the party hats with markers and the embellishments. Make them as colorful and crazy as you want. These hats can be elaborate or simple. Allow the embellishments that have been glued on to dry.
-
4
Apply glue down one upper edge of the triangle. Roll the hat into a cone shape.
-
5
Place paper clips on the top and bottom of the hat to secure it while it is drying.
-
6
Cut 5-inch lengths of elastic cording. Hold the hat so that the seam is in the back of the hat. Staple each elastic cording end to the hat so that the elastic cording will be placed at the sides of the hat.
