There are many instances where you might want to take your cat outside of your home, but you simply cannot put a leash on her collar. Unlike dogs, cats are more likely to slip out of a leash connected to their collar, so you will need to put a harness on your cat to ensure his safety. A harness allows you to take your cat for walks outside or keep her close when it's time to visit the vet or groomer. Leave the harness out on the floor to let her get used to its smell and presence. Then put harness on your cat and let her wear it around the house for a short time each day before you attach a leash and use it to take her out.
