Motorcycles are a fun hobby and mode of transportation. Many alterations to motorcycles can be done right in your garage. The exhaust system on a motorcycle is fairly simple; it consists of a 1-inch exhaust pipe from the engine connected to a standard muffler. To make a louder but still street legal muffler you can use items from your home. Just unscrew your old muffler and go from here.

Things You'll Need:

  • Drill Mousse can Pliers C-clamp Flathead screwdriver Protective eyewear
  1. Step 1

Pull the plastic top off of the mousse can. There should just be the metal lip on the top of the can and the plaster nozzle the mousse dispenser was on.

  2. Step 2

Bend the lip of the can up and out. Once you have the entire lip pried up you can use your pliers to firmly pull the top off the mousse can. It may make a little pop from the pressure in the can. Wash out any left over mousse residue. Use your pliers to flatten the circular lip that was under the mousse can dispenser nozzle top.

  3. Step 3

Drill a 1/4-inch hole through the can 1.25 inches down from the top of the can.

  4. Step 4

Drill a 1/8-inch hole in the center of the bottom of the can.

  5. Step 5

Slide a c-clamp onto the exhaust pipe and then slide the mousse can onto the exhaust pipe. Screw the c-clamp tightly to the lip on can and until it is tightly on the exhaust pipe.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear protective eyewear when drilling.
