How to Make Microdermabrasion Facial Cleanser

Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation technique that many spas and skin treatment clinics use to remove dead skin cells and leave skin smooth and even-toned. But why pay for expensive microdermabrasion treatments at a spa or clinic when you can make your own exfoliating skin cleanser at home? Just follow the steps below and you’ll have lovely, glowing skin in no time.

Things You'll Need

  • small bowl with cover
  • mixing spoons
  • grater
  • 1 teaspoon soap (use pure soap)
  • 4 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lavender oil

Gather your ingredients.

Grate 1 teaspoon of the soap and place in a bowl.

Add 3 teaspoons of water to the bowl. Cover the bowl and set aside for an hour. The soap will dissolve in the water and will become thick and viscous.

Take the cover off the bowl and add the baking soda. Stir until the baking soda is totally mixed in. The baking soda is what will add the exfoliating factor.

Carefully add 5 drops of olive oil and 10 drops of lavender oil. Stir until ingredients are blended. Now you have a pleasantly scented paste with exfoliating power.

Moisten your face. Apply the cream and rub in a circular motion around your face. Rinse off with warm water.

Keep the paste covered when not in use. It should last for a few weeks.
