Homemade Aftershave Lotion

Making homemade aftershave lotion is an easy way to find a uniquely personal scent. Not only is it easy to make, but fun to experiment with as well. Mint is available in a variety of fragrances, and many blend together to make a wonderful scent. A drop of essential oil can also be added to subtly change the aroma, or try substituting sage for the rosemary. Your homemade aftershave lotion also makes a wonderful gift.

Things You'll Need

• 1 tbsp. fresh mint 1 tbsp. fresh rosemary 1/4 tsp.grated lemon peel 1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg 1/4 tsp.grated orange peel 1/4 cup vodka 1/2 cup distilled water Glass jar with cover Glass bottle with cover Blender

Instructions

Prepare the Mixture

1. 

   Tear herb leaves and place in blender.

2. 

   Add grated orange, lemon peel and nutmeg.

3. Pulse until ingredients are mixed.

4. Add vodka and distilled water.

5. Pour mixture into a glass jar and cover.

Brew and Bottle

1. 

   Let lotion brew in a sunny window for 7 days.

2. 

   Strain mixture into glass bottle and cover.

3. Shake before using.

• Visit a garden nursery to acquaint yourself with mint varieties. Mint makes a lovely container plant.

• Keep this out of the reach of children.
