Downloading "free" ringers from an unfamiliar website could cause damage to your computer or your cell phone. To prevent this, you could make your own. No special software program is needed to create ringers. By joining one of the two websites listed below, you can make, store and send ringers with ease. Every ringer you create on either of these websites will be free for you and your friends to use. This article will explain how to make your own ringers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

    Myxer.com

  1. Step 1

Start by creating a personal account on Myxer.com. Once you fill out the necessary information, you will receive a confirmation email. Activate your account by clicking the link in the Myxer email. Once you've done this, click "Home" at the top of the link you just clicked. Doing so will take you to the homepage for your Myxer account.

  2. Step 2

Click "Browse" in the "Choose song or image" box. Choose the song on your computer that you want as a ringer. Select that song and click "Upload." A new box will appear on the screen.

  3. Step 3

Find the two vertical lines inside the "Pick your section" audio box. Inside these two lines is your ringer. Move this section to the left or to the right to change where your ringer starts. You can also move either of the lines individually to make the ringer longer or shorter.

  4. Step 4

Click "Continue." Then, click "Send to Phone" and a Myxer advertisement will come onscreen while your ringer is made. You will receive a confirmation message on the screen, once the ringer has been sent to your phone.

  5. Phonezoo.com

  6. Step 1

Make an account on Phonezoo, a website similar to Myxer. Instead of receiving a confirmation email from Phonezoo when you set up an account, your cell phone will receive a registration code. Type that code in on the web page following the "Sign Up" page to activate your account.

  7. Step 2

Click "Ringtones," found underneath the "Phonezoo" title at the top of the page. On the next page, click "Create From File" to begin making your own ringer.

  8. Step 3

Click "Browse." Just as in Step 2 of Section 1, you will then upload a song from your computer that you want as a ringer. Click the orange "Upload" tab. Wait as the file is prepared.

  9. Step 4

Move the orange box found in the "Edit Audio" portion of the page until you've found where you'd like your ringer to begin. You can then change the size of the ringer by typing in the box underneath the word "Length."

  10. Step 5

Click "Save & Send to Phone" to send the ringer to your phone. If you want to simply save the ringer to your Phonezoo account page, click "Save to My Zoo."

Tips & Warnings
  • You will be charged a text message fee for any file sent from Myxer or Phonezoo. The fee will be determined by your cell phone plan.
