How to Become a Doctor in the Army
The most common way to become a doctor in the Army Medical Corps is to become a member of the Health Professionals Scholarship Program, where the Army pays for all costs of any accredited medical, dental or veterinary school, including books, health insurance and a stipend of $1,900 per month. Some students also receive a signing bonus of up to $20,000. Upon graduation, you'll enter active duty in your specialty and advance to the rank of Captain. You will need to remain in active duty for the equivalent number of years you received the scholarship for.
