How to Make Sling
A sling uses leverage to increase the speed and force with which a person can throw a projectile. Rocks thrown from a sling can easily kill people and animals. In the October 1973 issue of "Scientific American," Manfred Korfmann stated that evidence for sling use has been found from as early as 10,000 BC and the sling continued to be used through the late Middle Ages. If the idea of making your own sling appeals to you, follow this guide.

3
Use the lighter to melt the raw ends of the nylon rope for about five seconds each end. This will prevent it from fraying.

Poke an end of one of the ropes through one of the holes a couple of inches. Tie it securely to itself. Repeat with the second rope and other hole.
Tips & Warnings
Add eyelets after you punch the holes for added durability. Bean bags make safer ammunition if people or breakable objects are in your vicinity.
Never throw objects from your sling in the direction of any person or animal regardless of what ammunition you are using.
