Things You'll Need:
- Significant other
-
Step 1
The easiest date is having dinner. I will either cook my husband's favorite dish, try a new one, or order pizza. My husband isn't much for romance, but it never hurts to light a candle and make it more intimate of a setting.
-
Step 2
What follows dinner is a good movie. You might usually only watch Disney movies (if you have kids), but there are many ways to entertain yourselves without leaving the house to go to a movie theatre. Perhaps you can rewatch one of the movies you HAD to purchase, swearing you would watch it again. Otherwise head to Blockbuster Video and rent something new to watch. It doesn't have to be a romance movie for you or action for him- find a healthy balance you both will enjoy.
-
Step 3
Play a game. Whether it's a card game, Scene It, Trivial Pursuit or another favorite, it is great to turn the television off and have a chance for conversation. What we like to do is get together with other couples and play Apples to Apples, or Singing Bee. We'll eventually buy Don't Forget the Lyrics as somehow the singing games seem to be very fun. Finally, don't forget the game console. Jump on and play some Rock Band or one of the games your kids play. The goal is to have fun so enjoy whatever you choose to do. Just because you're not spending money doesn't mean it won't be the best date in your lives.
