Using a bipolar chat room can be an important and free way to break the isolation so common with manic depression and other mental illnesses. While a bipolar chat room is never an acceptable substitute for therapy or medical treatment, it can help people suffering from manic depression talk more openly about their feelings and develop social skills. There are also chat options for those seeking private (paid) chat with a qualified therapist or psychologist.
