Things You'll Need:
- Window Shade
- WD-40
- Pliers
-
Step 1
Window Shade refuses to roll up. Remove the window shade from it's brackets. Now, you will need to remove the cap on the end of the shade
that has the flat pin. Use pliers to grab hold of the pin. Twist the pin clockwise until you feel the tension is tight. It should work
properly now. Place the cap back on the end.
Return the shade to it's bracket. And test. -
Step 2
Window shade catches and stops in the middle of the window. Pull the shade half way down. Remove the shade from the brackets holding it up. Roll the shade up slowly by hand. Return to the brackets. Test the shade.
-
Step 3
Window shade snaps up fast, often for no reason at all! Make sure the shade is rolled all the way up in the brackets. Now, remove it from the bracket. Roll the shade by hand down to about half way and return it
to the brackets. Test shade. It should work now. -
Step 4
Window shade will not catch or stay up. Remove the shade from the brackets. Pull off the cap with the flat pin. Clean the metal pins inside with a damp cloth. Spray with some WD-40 oil to lubricate the mechanism. Snap cap back on. Return the window shade to brackets.
